Surrey Sussex Osteopathy
What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a recognised system that uses a combination of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions as well as prevention and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal disorders. Osteopaths aim to restore your body to a state of balance where possible, without the use of drugs or surgery.
To achieve this Osteopaths use mobilisation, physical manipulation, stretching and massage to increase joint mobility, relieve muscle tension and improve the blood and nerve supply to tissues, therefore encouraging the body’s own healing. Osteopaths don’t just treat you in the clinic room, they also provide you with posture advice and home exercises to prevent symptoms reoccurring.
All Osteopaths are required to renew their registration each year with the general osteopathic council (GOsC) checking professional indemnity insurance, health and good character as well as continuing to stay up to date with professional development requirements.
